Tallen calls on Women, Youth to register as members of APC
The Hon. Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen has called on women and youths to come out en-mass to register or re-validate their membership status of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
According to a statement made available to PEAKNEWS and personally signed by the Hon. Minister, Tallen noted that the Party registration is key for political participation.
“The President and Leader of our Great Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, has flagged-off the registration of members in preparation for the Party’s National Convention”, she said.
“It is only when we register that we could aspire for elective positions, be it general or for election into party positions, politics is a game of numbers. Statistics have it that about 51% of our population is made up of both female and youth. This goes to say that we, women and youth, have the voting power to decide who should be our leader.
“It is in the light of this that I make this clarion call on all women and youth, from the ages of 18 years and above, to make haste and register as members of the largest party in black Africa, the APC”.
The Minister said globally, “we have seen instances where power shifted to women and youth. Women and Youth in Nigeria also clamour for similar power shift. This will not be possible if we do not use this opportunity to register as party members.
“Women and Youth, please ensure that you actively participate. Register and ensure that more women and youth in your constituency register also. Don’t miss this golden opportunity! Hurry and register now! Remember, your Party registration card opens all doors to political patronage”.
