Tallen Mourns Her Predecessor, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan
Dame Pauline Tallen, the Minister of Women Affairs has described the death of her predecessor, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, as a big blow and huge loss to the Nigeria especially in this trying time in the nation’s history.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, and made available to PeakNews, Tallen expressed her condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and indeed to the good people of Taraba and Nigeria at large.
She described the late Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan as detribalised Nigerian who led Nigerian women in the ministry of women affairs with equity and love irrespective of one’s tribe, religious or political linings.
Tallen urged Mama Taraba’s family and friends to take solace in the fact that her legacy will live on through her exemplary life style, and the excellent works she accomplished through out her social and political life. According to her,
“Thanks to the pace-setting works Mama Taraba did which had contributed in no small measure to the realization of the potentials of Nigerian women and children.
“May God grant repose to the soul of the departed and comfort his family and friends,” she said.
Late Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, was a Nigerian lawyer and politician. She was appointed in 2015 to the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari after his election until her resignation in July 2018.
