MNDA Holds Maiden Annual Awards For Staff

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA), Dr. Babayo Ardo has recognized outstanding and dedicated staff of the Ministry, in line with the current Reform Policy in the Federal Civil Service to boost staff morale.
Dr. Babayo gave the recognition during the celebration of the outstanding awardees in the Ministry on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.
He said the event is a response to the call by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Yemi-Esan to celebrate workers, who has continuously rendered outstanding services in the Ministry in spite of the Covid-19 Pandemic, adding that the programme was initiated for the year 2021 Civil Service Week Celebration and it ought to have been carried out during the month of June but was rescheduled due to unseen circumstances.
According to him, “today’s event is unique because it is the first of its kind in the history of the Ministry since its establishment and take off in 2009 and it is the first Service Award Ceremony I am presiding over as a Permanent Secretary”, he said.
The Permanent Secretary assured the awardees that this event is not the beginning and end of recognitions for staff of the Ministry who had and who would continue to distinguish themselves in their fields of endeavours. He therefore congratulated the awardees and urged them not to rest on their oars.
He further stated that they should continue to carry out their duties selflessly and encourage others to emulate their exemplary performance because there is great reward for good character and hard work.
In his goodwill remarks, Director, Human Resources Management, Mr. Musa Dakas said the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs is the first Ministry that has carried out the recognition of staff Awards Ceremony in all other MDA’s. He therefore tasked his colleagues to appreciate and recognize outstanding staff under their supervision.
In her response, the representative of the Awardees, Senior Administrative Officer, Mrs. Vivian Kenubia commended the Head of Service, Permanent Secretary (MNDA) and Directors for giving them the opportunity to serve the nation, emphasizing that the award bestowed on them is a “wake-up call” for all the awardees to give more to the service of our Nation.
The awardees includes: Yebei Hanson, Chief Admin. Officer (HRM), Alao Gboyega, Prin. Admin. Officer (PRS), Yohanna Daniel, Snr Quantity Surveyor (HUD), Togor Benjul, Senior Forest Officer, (EM), Sadiku Malietu, Princ. Con. Secretary II (EE), Kenubia Vivian, Senior Admin. Officer.
Others are, Ojo Babatunde Isola, Admin. Officer 1, (RCSI), Egworaha Oghenefejiro, Admin. Officer I, (RCSI), Okpara Jerry Chibuike, Snr. Scientific Officer, (EM), Tenam Jude Lumo, Quantity Surveyor II, (HUD), Isah Ibrahim, Prin. Executive Officer, (DFA) and Ibrahim Alhassan, Admin. Officer I, (EM).
