FCT NUJ Chairman Tasks CrossJof on Watchdog Role

The Chairman NUJ FCT Chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche has called on the members of the Cross River Journalists Forum Abuja not to relent in holding political office seekers in the state accountable. Ogbeche gave the charge while receiving the newly elected executive of the Cross River Journalists Forum in his office.

The Chairman who is also a Crossriverian, assured the team of his support and advised them to embrace teamwork adding that, that is the secret of his administration’s success. Ogbeche also stressed the need for growth and urged the new Exco members to do all it can to enhance professionalism in their practice.

Secretary of FCT NUJ, Ochiaka Agwu while welcoming the Exco members,  congratulated them and applauded the forum for the peaceful conduct of the election which he monitored.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman CrossJof, Comrade Ignatius Ushie appreciated the NUJ chairman for his leadership role and support for journalists in the FCT. He said the purpose of the visit was to introduce the new Exco members and solicit for support and guidance from the leadership of the NUJ FCT.

Ushie lauded the leadership style of the Chairman and his team which he said is result oriented and promised to walk in his footsteps.

Presenting a vote of thanks on behalf of the Exco, the secretary CrossJof, Mrs Francisca Ogar appreciated the Chairman for the audience and his open door policy. She assured him that the Exco would live up to expectations and promised that training opportunities for journalists extended to members would not be taken for granted.

Present at the visit were Lulu Bankong Vice Chairman; Idara Ukpanyang, Treasurer; Wofai Ibor, Financial Secretary and Nten Ekpang, Public Relations Officer.
