NDLEA Pledges To Support NANTA

The Chairman, National Drug law Enforcement Agency,( NDLEA), Gen Buba Marwa (rtd), says the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), will receive the support of  the illicit drugs bursting agency as part of its all inclusive collaboration to rid Nigeria of drug  cartels and couriers.

Gen Marwa disclosed that as a former player in the aviation sector, he appreciates the challenges of travel trade operators in having the right training to help track down drug traffickers who approach them for travel services, noting that though the drug agency is not a revenue generating organization, he would however ensure that NANTA members receive every training support that would enhance their partnership with NDLEA.

General Buba Marwa, thanked the association for recognition accorded him by the way of NANTA Eminent Persons diadem, adding that all hands must be on deck to restore sanity in Nigeria public health system and the image of the country.

Speaking earlier, the  President, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Mrs Susan Akporiaye,  who led two Council members of the association, Mr Chima Ihe and Ambassador Kayode Akinshola, to present the Certificate of nomination to General Buba Marwa as NANTA Eminent Persons Awardee,  for championing the  aggressive drive to rid Nigeria of illicit trafficking and consumption of drugs, appealed to the NDLEA boss, to help NANTA to create more awareness by way of training its members on how to be circumspect when dealing with clients, requesting for travel services to countries listed as illicit drugs red zones.

“Since your coming to NDLEA, we noticed that you have put the illicit drug cartels to flight, and thus help give Nigeria a better image within and outside Africa, which has brought a boost to our business, largely dependent on perception and image, ” NANTA President  explained.
