Lagos to close Abule level crossing for railway project
The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of another level crossing for the construction of the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line.
It announced in a statement on Friday that “the Abule level crossing towards the Apapa end of the railway project will be closed from Saturday, November 21st, to Sunday, November 22nd, 2020.”
It explained that in line with the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section) with extension to Lagos Port at Apapa, “that the construction company, China Civil Engineering Construction Company Nigeria Limited, would commence the track construction at 5:00 AM and finish by 8 PM the next day.”
Also, the new Costain Bridge is expected to be opened to all motorists on the 19th of November to serve as an alternative route for motorists plying the axis to aid their movement.
The Lagos State Government had earlier closed the rail level crossing on Ilupeju, Jibowu, and Yaba.
