FG Drums Support For Girl Child Education

The Federal Government of Nigeria has  again, calls for more support from all stakeholders to ensure the consolidation of the “Girl Child Education in Nigeria”.

The Ministry of State for Education made this call eecently, during a breakfast meeting with girls from nine (9) states of the Federation at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja.

Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba in his words emphasised the need for the Girl Child Education adding that, with the education of the ” Girl Child”, it will inadvertently task them to become responsible women and mothers who will ensure the Education of their children in future.

According to him, the idea of the Girl Child Education is paramount and needs to be understood in order to establish the circle moving forward.

Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba assured of  continued commitment by the Federal Government, towards safe environment for learning and consolidation of existing achievements.

He implored leaders of Traditional Institutions especially of the Northern part of the country to own the responsibility of Girl Child Education in their communities.

As a strong advocate to child abuse, the Hon. Minister advocated an end to Girl marriages pointing out that, Girl marriages truncates the future of the child girl.

The Honourable Minister of State for Education Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, was joined by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tame and the Director General of National Centre for Women Development, Hon. Dr. Asabe Bashir as well as Representatives of UNICEF.
