Abductions, Killings: Humanitarian Minister Commiserates With Zamfara

The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has commiserated with the Governorย of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matwelle on the abduction and killing of school children.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry,ย Bashir Nura Alkali and made available to PeakNews in Abuja, the Minister condemned the attack, while she prayed for the release of the abductees.

According to the report, school officials say those taken include fifteen male students and four other people, however twoย staff members and one of the kidnapped students escaped and returned to the school.

The report further said that the students were kidnapped on Sunday night from the College after armed men opened fire and killed the school security guards.

As at the time of the incident, the Zamfara State Police Command is yet to make an official statement.

While condemning the attack in very strong terms, Farouq sympathised with the families of the students and the others on the attack.

The Minister assures the families of the victims that the Federal Government is working hard to secure the release of the students and the four others.
